That pesky ‘mummy brain’ or not?

I was at a new parents session about introducing solids last week. This joy awaits us, and our walls and floors, for a little while yet! Anyway the nurse taking the session asked a mother in the room what she had for dinner last night. This delightful woman sat there silently with an awkward look on her face. I think everyone in the room knew where she was coming from. Remember something from last night – ha – I couldn’t even tell you what I had on my toast this morning! The nurse said sorry I didn’t meant to put you on the spot, just make it up. Ah that pesky ‘mummy brain’ at play here. But no, this time it wasn’t – the lengthy silence was due to the then utterly honest admission of the nutritiously challenged biscuits and ice cream for dinner – which every one in the room also understood!
