As a full time working mum of a two year old on the odd occasion (and that might be a slight understatement!) the mere thought of cooking dinner sometimes makes the other half and I look at each other and cave to the higher power known as ring up and order dinner! And when we do we typically default to the menu or two that we have attached to our fridge. Well there is a way to have an array of selection without having your fridge layered with a litany of takeaway and delivery menus, like some peeling billboard posted over many times.
We used Menulog for the very first time last weekend. It is really easy to use, you hop onto the website, enter your postcode, and away you go. There are a range of options on your left hand side to help you figure out what you want to eat. For example you can narrow down your options by selecting the type of food you would like (we went Thai) and one feature that really stood out to me was that you could order for delivery immediately, or for a later time – now that is really useful. You get a text confirming your order which is very reassuring. Which includes a number to ring just in case you go “ah sh*t we forgot the rice” – we didn’t!
It was a very decadent experience to have dinner delivered. Living in North Melbourne we are within easy walking distance. And while naturally restaurant dependent delivery was very swift from Smile Thai. How good does dinner look? We had spring rolls and chicken satay to start, followed by lemongrass beef and a duck curry, with coconut rice (which I looove!). Our little girl was certainly in on the act! Unsurprisingly given the title of my blog we procured dinner from our area, you can check out the huge array of local North Melbourne options through Menulog here.
