I cracked a beer at 12 noon today. Did I mention I was in charge of my 2&1/2 year old? Rest assured I did not give her one! But as for me, it is Melbourne, I am on my last week of holiday, and the mercury is at 36.1 ºC. I feel like a reckless Uni student, having a beer in the middle of the day. Note to self, must do more often – ok, it does not always have to be a beer, but to capture that spontaneity, that is worth pursuing.
So does your first post for the year set the tone for your blog for the whole year. Hmm the slightly drunken tales of a working mum of one little sweetheart. Kind of catchy, might have a bit of a following. However alas I was born with some gene that I am sure gave out more than its fair share of responsibility. But as they say better late than never – maybe it is time for me to minimise that character aspect.
I stumbled across this quote by Brad Paisley at the end of last year, “Tomorrow is the first blank page of a 365 page book. Write a good one.” I really like this, particularly the reminder that every day of the year is blank for you to create; that is a bit of me.
So that is how I am going to start my year, wishing you and myself 358 (365 – 7) blank pages to create a wonderful 2015. Every day is a chance to do whatever we want, hard to ask for anything more than that.
